Welcome to Red Dragon Society

A World of Warcraft Late-Night Raiding Guild on Bonechewer

Red Dragon Society is a late night guild formed in November 2008.  RDS is a home for serious players who can’t make common raid times due to real life commitments but want to be on the leading edge of game progression.  Our primary goals are twofold:  1) to be progressing through the hardest content blizzard can offer; and 2) to provide a positive environment while raiding.

Schedule:  Sunday-Thursday 10:15PM – 1:30AM U.S. Pacific Standard Time
Although we raid almost every night, our primary raid nights are Sunday through Thursday.  Friday and Saturday are optional.  To be considered for Senior Raider status, a player must regularly attend at least 4 of the 5 primary raid nights.

Structure:
Starting on Tuesday, we run a 25 man (Raid 1) and a 10 man (Raid 2) raid.  Our primary focus is the 25 man content.  Raid 1 and Raid 2 are made up of Senior Raiders and occasionally one or two Raiders or alts to fill important class absences.  Later in the week, we usually run additional 10 man raids and a second 25 man raid (usually Sunday).  These additional raids are made up of any Senior Raiders that did not get into Raid 1, Raiders, Trial Raiders, and some alts as needed to balance the raids.  Raids 1 and 2 push forward the guild’s progression and are the core of RDS.  The additional raids are for training and gearing raiders.

Raider Status:
There are three main types of raiders in RDS:  Senior Raiders, Raiders and Trial Raiders.  Our goal is to have approximately 40 Senior Raiders at any given time and another 10-15 Raiders/Trail Raiders.  Senior raider status is determined by the three AAA’s:  Attitude, Ability, and Attendance.  Senior Raiders are first chosen for raids, get preference on loot, and have the highest weekly guild bank repair allowance.

Attitude:
RDS strives to maintain a professional and friendly environment that encourages teamwork and enjoyable progression.  Regardless of skill, a player with a bad attitude is a negative influence.  As such, we will not tolerate players who are disrespectful of others, hostile, or extremely negative.  You may be the most skilled player in WoW, but if you are a jerk, don’t apply.
Some players take it upon themselves to police other players and belittle them.  Such policing and chastisement is the job of the officers and RDS believes most policing is best done with whispers and conversation not yelling and name-calling.  As such, if you think there is a problem, bring it to an officer’s attention.  In addition, we run RDS for ALL the members of RDS not for just you.  So if you are planning to put your in game needs over the guild's needs, look elsewhere.

Attendance:
Regular and on-time attendance is important for all raiders.  However, in order to be considered for Senior Raider status you must be online and available for at least 4 of our 5 primary raid nights.
We realize that occasionally real life issues may prevent you from attending.  In those cases it is required that Senior Raiders notify the guild by posting on the forums or contacting an officer.  Failure to be reliable is grounds for demotion.

Ability:
We are regularly reviewing and assessing our players to make sure that everyone is pulling their weight.  We use online tools and our personal experience.  If someone isn't doing as well as we think they should, an officer will speak to them and try to help them.  If problems persist, demotion or removal are possibilities.  Ability includes all performance factors including being prepared (flasks, pots, enchantments, gems, gear), situational awareness, dual spec and skills with both specs.  Ability/performance also includes having the required add-ons (Deadly Boss Mods, Omen Threat Meter, and ORA3) as well as ventrilo and a microphone, and a stable connection.

Loot Distribution:  EPGP
We use a loot distribution system called EPGP (Effort Points/Gear Points). We feel it is the best loot distribution system developed so far in terms of fairness.  More information on the system, as well as our implementation of it can be found in the forums.  Although not required, the EPGP add-on is recommended.

Recruitment:
All experienced and well geared players regardless of class are welcome to apply and will be considered. Specific class needs are posted in the recruitment column on this page.  You must have an average gear level of at least 245 to be considered.  Feel free to whisper Elouicious, Lieluu, or Dugrimn in-game if you would like to discuss joining. You are welcome to jump on vent with us or listen in to a raid.  You are also encouraged to fill out an application if you feel this guild may be a good fit for you.
